Dear Mr. Clarke

I recently became aware of the assistance The Sport Legends Trust provide to ex rugby players who are in financial need. My father, Dawie Ackermann, was a Springbok during the 50's but passed away in 1970 and my mother never remarried.

She has been struggling with her health the last couple of years and is currently in financial need. I am a widow as well and find it very difficult to assist her financially. Is it in any way possible to apply for financial aid from the Trust and if so what is the procedure?

We will greatly appreciate any help you can provide

SLT organised the Dawie Ackerman Memorial golf day in Oct 2004 in aid
of Dawie's family. The necessary assistance will be passed on to Dawie's family to assist their financial burdens.
